Oak top on STUVA play furniture

IKEA makes handy furniture for storing toys, at a nice child's height. Their STUVA collection is perfect for placing a beautiful solid wooden top on top and thus using it in a completely stylish manner in your living room. Unfortunately, the STUVA series is out of the collection, but there is still plenty of STUVA furniture in circulation that could use an upgrade.

Create your own play corner with wood

Place two STUVA toy chests against your wall, leave at least one meter of space between them, place a solid oak top over them and you have a play table. The height of 50 cm is perfect for small children. The same applies to the STUVA chests of drawers, which have a height of 64 cm, which is nice for slightly older children. This way, even your oak top can grow with the children's play corner, as the depth of the top is the same for all this STUVA furniture.

What size and thickness do you choose?

You can choose between a solid oak top of 18 or 30 mm. The depth of the top is 52 cm, which falls just over the STUVA furniture, which gives it a chic look. The solid oak top is available in various standard sizes, from 90 cm to a length of 300 cm. Everything in between is also possible, please contact us for a different size. You can also opt for a wooden side on your desk as you see in the photo with the toy boxes. Did you know that we always supply with a few mm excess to ensure an optimal connection to your IKEA furniture? This is what is called “equal is unequal” in furniture maker jargon. Protect your blade

You can treat your sheet yourself, but you can also have us do it for you. You can choose from clear, warm and white oak. We varnish the clear oak three times on both sides, so that it is optimally protected against stains and damage to the wood. Warm and white oak are oiled and provided with a matte clear varnish. The paint is nice and matte, your top is protected, but looks untreated. In short, the most natural look.

Mounting tip for the STUVA

Your top fits like a rock, it is quite heavy because the top is made of solid oak. If you want the top to be anchored a little more firmly, you can use a little mounting kit or use screws to secure the top to the STUVA cabinet from the inside.
