You've heard us mention scaffolding wood as a term a few times. A long time ago we made this Montecastelli lounge set from new and old scaffolding wood. There was a lot of demand for scaffolding wood at that time, but unfortunately it only lasted about five years. Today we only use the much more durable, smoother and more beautiful Douglas fir wood. This Douglas fir wood lasts more than twice as long with an expected lifespan of approximately 10-15 years. To maintain the successful design, we use Douglas fir wood in the size of a scaffolding plank, namely 20 cm wide. In short, it is Douglas fir wood in the size of a scaffolding plank.

There are many qualities of Douglas fir wood available on the market. DroomHout selects only the very best Douglas wood for your lounge sofa. Choosing a high-quality Douglas scaffolding plank ensures that the wood remains stable and straight for longer. Besides the fact that you are less likely to suffer from resin, your scaffolding wooden lounge set will last a long time. Nice thick lounge cushions
The included lounge cushions from the DroomHout home collection are made of a light gray linen look fabric that feels like soft cotton. Because polyester is incorporated, the lounge cushions discolour less quickly than cotton covers. The generous lounge cushions have a seat size of 70 x 70 cm and a thickness of 12 cm, which is larger and thicker than almost all other lounge cushions available on the market.
A small rain shower is no problem - lounge cushions are washable
Although we recommend storing the cushions indoors or dry in case of prolonged rain, the DroomHout lounge cushions can withstand a small splash of rain. With a little sun they usually dry again in no time. And if your lounge cushion ever gets a stain, the covers can be zipped off and washed in the washing machine at 30 degrees. This way your lounge cushions can easily stay clean for a long time. The lounge cushions have a linen look and are available in light gray and anthracite.
Maintenance-free lounge set - can be left outside all year round
You hardly have to do any maintenance on your lounge set. It is best to simply place the set in an open sunny spot all year round so that the sun and wind keep the wood nice and dry. There is no need to cover it with a cover. Because the Douglas fir planks are already quite thick, namely 36 mm, your lounge set will last for years.
From two-seater to three-seater corner sofa
Of course it is also possible to get the corner set with a three-seater sofa, or even with 2 three-seater sofas. The length of the 3-seater sofa is then 210 cm. If this also fits in your garden, simply upgrade that set to a 5-seater or 6-seater lounge set !
