A practical play corner

Get the most out of the SMÅSTAD toy box by pairing it with a solid oak top. Place 2 chests with at least a meter of space between them, place a nice wooden top over them and you have a great gaming table with storage space. The chests have a height of approximately 50 cm, a perfect height for small children. You immediately have a very nice play corner . And anyway, every IKEA hack with wood is cool!

A suitable top for every SMÅSTAD combination

You can make your play corner as big as you want. The solid oak top for the SMÅSTAD music box is available in various sizes, from 90 cm to a length of 360 cm. For 1, 2, 3 or 4 play chests. But if you want to make a combination with a different size, that is of course also possible, please contact us. You can choose an 18 or 30 mm thick solid oak top. The tops are 52 cm deep. You then also have the choice whether you let us treat the top with a matte transparent varnish and color or you leave it untreated. We paint the top 3 times on both sides so that it is optimally protected and still has an untreated natural appearance.

How do you ensure that the sheet stays in place?

We understand that you want to fix the top on the furniture when children are playing so that it certainly cannot slide. You can use screws for this. You screw these screws from the inside through the cabinet into the bottom of the top. You won't see anything from the outside if you don't use screws that are too long. But in principle you can simply place the top on your furniture. The weight keeps it well in place.
