A practical play or work corner

With the IKEA SMÅSTAD / PLATSA chest of drawers you can combine endlessly. Adding a solid oak top gives your furniture a more chic look. Even more combinations are possible. Consider placing 2 cabinets some distance apart. Place a tray on it and you create a play or workplace for young and old. The I KEA SMÅSTAD cabinets of approx. 65 cm high are ideal for a children's play corner. You can use the cabinets of approximately 125 cm high to make a bar table. Add a few beautiful Albert Kuip Bar Stools and your workplace is complete.

A suitable tray for every combination

Various lengths are available, these are based on the standard sizes of the IKEA SMÅSTAD cabinet. If your desired size is not listed, we will simply make it to size. You can place an 18 mm or 30 mm thick top in a play or work corner, whatever suits your interior. Or perhaps you already have a BESTA TV cabinet from IKEA with a beautiful solid oak top. Then you just go for the same thickness and finish. We can deliver the top untreated or you can choose a finish with transparent matte lacquer. This gives the top optimal protection against stains and the great thing is that this varnish retains the natural appearance, you cannot see that the top is varnished.

Be sure that your sheet remains firmly in place

In principle, you can simply place the top on your furniture. The weight keeps it well in place. If you still want to secure it, you can use screws. You screw these screws from the inside through the cabinet into the bottom of the top. You can't see anything from the outside! At least as long as you don't use screws that are too long ;).
